Southern Vales BBQ Run 2006

The club assembled at the K-Mart Shopping Centre, at Kuralta Park. This site was chosen as this had a significant car park space and allowed an easy escape onto Anzac Highway through to South Road. We met at approx 10am with the intention to start the run at 10:30. We had a gathering of about 10 cars and decided to start. The weather had been yet kind to us again. The forecast was for 23c. Steve Bonython lead the pack onto Anzac highway and down to South Road. Due to the traffic lights we were split up down South road but soon caught up. The traffic started to clear out as we turned onto the Southern Expressway. This allowed some of the cars to align in convoy proudly displaying the Ford Logo. When we arrived at the end of the Expressway we turned back onto the continuous run of South road and down to the Victor Harbor turnoff. Left down to McLaren Vale and down the main street, right into Valley View drive to the Park.

The day was filled with the distant sound of bagpipes as a memorial service was held for the Vietnam Veterans was held

There were 15 cars, and 22 members and guests.
Makes it all worthwhile again Well done to all.

A particular thanks to Steve Bonython and Vince Clark for another succesful Cruise to the Southern Vales....................
