The recent Quiz night was enjoyed by all who attended. We are indeed grateful to our many sponsors and we are glad that some club members have a good circle of friends who support these functions. Despite plenty of advertising and advance notice as well as lots of terrific prizes, plus a low door fee of $5, we only had 5 club members in the crowd! So I do have to ask once again why do so few club members support our own functions?

As it turned out, there was a great selection of prizes and a good night was had by all with just a couple of controversial calls made. Competition from the top 3 teams was especially tight so it was just as well each of these teams went away with a goodie basket. Indeed all teams ended up with prizes by the end of the night.

This was my first function as social secretary and I would like to thank my “Quiz Team” – Jesse the Quiz Master, as well as scorers and runners - Vince, David and Paul.

I have listed our generous sponsors below and ask that you keep them in mind when you are purchasing the products they sell. Prizes would have been valued in excess of $500 and we were happy to break even on the night as this was purely a social function and not a fund raiser.
