All Ford Day 2006
The day actually started on Saturday when some of our members attended the Immanuel College Oval to erect the Marquee that we had collected for the important day.
The day was 37c and Denis had brought some nice ice cold drinks for the group. It took about 2 hours to get this up and running and we could now see the
size of the area we had for our cars. Fantastic. Last minute checklist and home for the day
The Sunday Started at 7:00am and our members started to arrive. Steve Bonython was arranging the cars and the Area to be fenced off was being finalised.
Denis had the BBQ in hand ready to feed the hungry members.
The forecast was for 34c and it was already 24c. As the cars were lining up there was a feeling that the day was to be another success.
As per usual the FOCC members did us proud. Gordon Cowley brought the "Fordy 8" and Young Mr Redden had the 1936 Truck backed into the Marquee.
Our club banner was positioned near the entrance that we made for the public to come and view our cars.
The FOCC members gathered together and setup the memorabilia that we had gathered over the years. A display was fenced off in the Marquee for this display.
Flags from various country's were displayed around the area and about 34 cars were strategically maneuvered and placed around the area.
The Day ended about 4:30pm when the days Event coordinators announced the we had won the All Ford Day "Best Club Display" Award.
I would like to thank Steve Bonython for all the efforts he put into another successful day. And a thank you to all the members that assisted & participated.
More pictures to follow soon.
