Secretary’s Mystery Cruise

All who attended, enjoyed the cruise, even the weather favoured us on the day. Eleven cars battled the hills and gullies to reach the mystery destination. Other members joined us for lunch. The route was well planned and laid out, the only thing that I can see that I can do better next time is that I need to learn my left from my right.

Vince, Marino and I were on the tail end for the run. We scheduled a short stop for coffee, but just to show even well made plans sometimes don’t work, the shop decided it was not going to open that morning. Plan two; we stopped at Lobethal for a nice sit down and a good coffee before continuing with the run.

We all ended up at Mt Pleasant Hotel and seated outside in the garden area on two large tables, as there were some members that met us at the hotel just for the meal and the good company. I can only speak for myself but I had a good meal made even better by the good company of members and friends. I am sure that I was not the only one who enjoyed the lunch
and company as we lingered on a while.

I received a number of entries back covering the information to be collected during the trip, with some having some different and interesting answers (smile) recorded. After a great deal of soul searching, consideration and consulting the umpires marking guide only two had the correct answers. The two winners are Cathy who gets a bottle of red and Kerry & Mick
walked away with the port. Prizes will be given out at the next meeting.

Well I enjoyed running the event and would appreciate any feedback so we can make next year’s even better. Thanks to all the members who turned up and made my first run a happy, safe and enjoyable day. Stephen - Secretary FOCC
